Development Engineer

Summary Overview:

Works on design and process development of new product designs and current product enhancements as directed.  Responsible for design, development, implementation, and analysis of technical products and systems.

Responsibilities:

• Work with R&D to optimize new product designs for transition to production.
• Develop new product design manufacturing methods for efficient production.
• Work on product development teams and with customers to create product designs that are customer driven.
• Help determine qualification testing and other product tests to assure product design.

Requirements:

• Bachelors’ degree in Engineering, preferably mechanical, or equivalent experience.
• Three-plus years experience in manufacturing and product development preferably in a medical device environment.
• CAD experience required, preferable w/ Solidworks. Good drafting knowledge/skills.
• Strong proficiency in the use of personal computers.
• Familiar with a variety of manufacturing methods. Injection molding experience a plus.
• Good laboratory practices.
• Medical packaging and/or electronics experience helpful.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, computer, and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Must be able to meet deadlines while working on several projects simultaneously.
• Must speak, read, and understand English.
